Good news, we are planning an event this year after a much too long layoff due to the pandemic.Dates are Wednesday, June 22 to Sunday, June 26, (hours are the usual 7:00 am to 7:00 pm).
This year’s event will be quite a bit different than usual because pandemic related issues and the logistics involved don’t allow for a return to normal. Hopefully by next year we’ll resume again at full capacity.
Instead of a competition six selected carvers will each carve a bench, and will receive a stipend of $1500
We plan to auction one or maybe two of the benches with the proceeds all going to CR Shoreline Society to help refill our dwindling coffers. The other benches will be placed around town.
By each of you carving a bench we are able to dispense with getting the logs vertical and scaffolding will not be needed.
If you are interested please let us know ASAP as we are not able to accommodate everyone this year and a draw may have to be held to determine the six carvers.
